Elaine is one of the areas most experienced and knowledgeable brokers. She has lived in Charlotte with her family since 1978 and was one of the founding RE/MAX associates in Charlotte prior to opening her own firm, Golden Properties Realty in 2009. Elaine is a leader in exceeding the needs of buyers, sellers and in providing relocation services. In addition Elaine and her husband Ray founded the Ballantyne Breakfast Club which is the community information forum for the South Charlotte - Ballantyne area. This forum provides for the exchange of information between local area residents and the areas business leaders, developers, elected officials and service providers. Meetings are held six times a year and guest speakers of note have included Charlotte's Mayor, the Superintendent of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, the Chief of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, representatives of the Bissell Companies the developers of Ballantyne and South Park, local and state political representatives, DOT representatives from the city and state, area business leaders and numerous developers and other leaders who are contributing to the growth of Charlotte and Ballantyne.
In recognition of his community service Ray was honored by the Bissell Companies who named him the Mayor of Ballantyne.
In 2009 the Ballantyne Breakfast Club expanded its yearly candidates forum by establishing the Ballantyne Candidates Forum
& Chili Cook Off Event. This event has expanded and in 2011 the Ballantyne Breakfast Club hosted the first "Ballantyne Festival" at the Morrison Family YMCA. This festival included the Ballantyne Candidates Forum & Chili Cook-Off Event as part of a fun filled day for residents with games, rides, activities, demonstrations, music, dance and displays of special vehicles provided by our fire, police and sheriff departments.
Because of their efforts over the years in marketing and promoting the area and because of their commitment to the community Elaine and Ray have been featured in several area publications. In addition Ray serves as a Ex Facto Director on the Ballantyne Chapter of the Chamber of Commerce. Ray has also been recognized for his commitment to Charlotte in providing input on Charlotte's 20 year plan. He was also appointed by the Charlotte City Manager to serve as the South Charlotte community representative on the 2008-09 Committee of 21 for Road and Transportation priorities. In 2009 Ray was recognized by the City of Charlotte and the Mayor for his community involvement related to the founding of the Ballantyne Breakfast Club community forum in a proclamation declaring Dec. 5, 2009 as Ballantyne Breakfast Day.
Since 2009 Ray has represented the interests of the community in meeting with NCDOT, State, County & City representatives. These efforts of which he was a part have had positive results with the 2011 announcement of the widening of I-485, the fly over interchange for Johnston Road, the building of the North Community House Road Bridge, sundry traffic improvements and the approval for the rezoning to expand the Corporate Park.
